Createx Transparent Base

Transparent Base is the paint without pigments. Appears mikly in colution, dries clear

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Airbrush Colors Only.

  • Add to colors to increase transparency without lessening resin load, for example when making a stain or wash.
  • Apply over colors for a light, protective coating.
  • 5601 is textile specific. Best uaed for textiles & Fabrics, leather and other flexiblek porous substates.and dries to a softer coating compared to other Transparent Bases.
  • Apply 5601 to t-shirt before painting to prevent fabric knap from interfering with painting and improve coverage of colors.

4013 Reducer


Add to colors to reduce color values or to increase opacity

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Airbrush Colors Only.

  • A colorless resin base, with refined clay, for mixing with colors for increased opacity.
  • Add small amounts to color until desired result is achieved (up to 25%)
  • Chroma of color will be lowered after mixing.
  • It may negate the special effects characteristics of certain colors.

4011 Reducer

4011 hi temp reducter

4011 Reducer is a dilutant used for thinning paint. It is compatible with and recommended as the standard thinner for all Createx paints and clears.

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Paints.

  • 4011 is a water-based thinner used to lower viscosity and promotes faster drying times and complete curing.
  • 4011 is generally added 5% - 10% per volume to paint. For small tip-sized airbrush, add 4011 Reducer in greater amounts up to 20% per volume.
  • For optimized performance, after adding 4011 Reducer, allow 10 or more minutes before spraying to allow 401 Reducer to acclimate with the paint.
  • 4011 is safer to use to over-reduce paint without seeding.
  • 4011 assists drying times by flashing water from the paint. 4011 also helps reduce tip-dry compared to diluting with water.
  • Water-based paint material containing Propylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether Acetate

4013 - Reducer


4650 Automotive Reducer

4013 Reducer is a thinner suitable for use with all Createx paints. 4013 Reducer can be used as substitute for 4011 Reducer.

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Paints.

  • 4013 is a Isopropyl Alcohol based reducer
  • Assists drying times by flashing water from the paint
  • Reduces tip-dry, and decreases paint viscosity *"thins it" for improved flow and atomization, especially when airbrushing.
  • Generally added 5 - 10% per volume
  • 4013 Reducer is compliant with clean air regulations and jurisdictions including South Coast AQMD Rule 1401.

  • FLAMMABLE! The isopropyl alcohol in 4013 Reducer is classified as a flammable substance. Store in a fire-proof cabinet. Keep away from open flame and only use in a well-ventilated area.
  • STORAGE - FLAMMABLE! Keep 40103 Reducer stored in a flame-proff cabinet when not in use. Keep away from flames.

4020 - Reducer

Createx Transparent Base

Recommended for use with all Createx Paints except AutoAir Autoborne Sealers
  • 4020 is a acetone and Glycol Ethersl based reducer
  • 4020 is a specialty additive, not to replace 4011/4012 the standard dilutant for all Createx Colors paint.
  • 4020 works best by mixing with 4011 to create a cocktailed dilutant. Diluting Createx paints with 4020 alone is not recommended as paint may prematurely cure, seed in the cup and create cured paint particle contaminants.
  • Mix ratios for adding 4020 to 4011 vary, but generally: • Airbrush: Mix 4011 1:1 4020 • Spray-gun: Mix 4011 3:1 4020
  • Makes paint flow easy with minimal tip-dry.
  • 4020 may be used to clean surfaces of oils prior to paint.

  • FLAMMABLE! The Acetone and Glycol Ethersl in 4013 Reducer is classified as a flammable substance. Store in a fire-proof cabinet. Keep away from open flame and only use in a well-ventilated area.

  • Use only in controlled spray environments with adequate ventilation and a NIOSH / MSHA approved respirator.

4012 High Performance Reducer


Createx has discontinued 4012 Reducer and they are now recommending 4011 Reducer as the “go to” reducer for all Createx products.

4012 Reducer was discontinued due to changing toxicology regulations and the increasing use of water-soluble urethane resins. 4012 did not work well with candy2o colors because 4012 caused bleeding that can seed the colors (dark specks which is a conglomeration of the dye with the resin).
Also 4012 has been found to re-wet previous paint layers (too aggressive) which can cause streaking. 4011 will not re-wet the paint layers below.

If you still have a supply of 4012 Reducer, it is recommended that you do a "one to one" cocktail with 4012 and de-mineralized water (bottled water) Mix well.

5618 - Airbrush Cleaner


Createx Transparent Base

A mild, water-based solvent cleaner for rinsing colors while painting.

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Paints.

  • Rinses paint from airbrush or spray-gun more effectively compared to water when changing colors.
  • Helps maintain proper working condition of airbrush or spray-gun by preventing build-up of dried paint.
  • Spray 5618 in between colors while painting to partially clean airbrush or spray-gun before using next color.
  • Compared to 4011, 5618 is a milder cleaner. When adding 4030 to Createx Colors paints and clears, flushing colors with 4011 is more effective compared to cleaning with 5618.

4008 - Airbrush Restorer

4013 Reducer

A water-based, biodegradable cleaner used for soaking airbrush and spray-gun parts after painting.

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Paints.

  • Partially dissolves dried paint allowing for easy clean-up with soap & water.
  • Use as a soak for metallic parts: nozzle, needle, cup.
  • Re-Usable. Keep in metal or ceramic container.

  • Flush airbrush or spray-gun with water after cleaning with 4008. Even trace amounts of 4008 will affect paint.
  • Do not spray 4008 through the airbrush or spray-gun. Use as a soak or wipe on the cured paint.
  • 4008 dissolves soft plastics. Keep away from stencils, soft plastics and O-rings other than polytetrafluooesthylen (PTFE)coated rings.

4030 - Balancing Clear


Createx Transparent Base

A non-catalyzed, polyurethane, water-based clear.

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Paints.

  • 4030 Balancing Clear is a colorless, water-based clear made with urethane resin made for mixing with Createx paints. 4030 appears milky in solution and dries to a satin, clear finish.
  • 4030 is generally added 10% per volume to Createx paints. The Createx paint & 4030 mixture is thinned as needed with 4011 Reducer, ~ 10% -25% per volume depending upon airbrush tip-size & air pressure and adjusted for best flow & atomization of the paint.
  • Adding 4030 Balancing Clear to Createx paints, and other water-based acrylic paints, creates an acrylic – urethane resin mix which: Improves flow and reduces tip-dry while spraying. Promotes leveling for a smooth, texture-free coating. Improves adhesion to plastics, 3D print material, fiberglass, urethane, epoxy, wood, aluminum, and most any hard-surface or rigid substrate. Improves durability (mar resistance)
  • Createx Airbrush Colors air-dry to a much more durable coating when mixed with 4030 Balancing Clear.
  • 4030 also works as a protective inter-coat when applied over Createx Airbrush Colors. Reduce 10% 4011 Reducer when applying 4030 as an inter-coat.

4040- Bleed Checker

4013 Reducer

A water-based, acrylic-urethane clear for use as a protective inter-coat applied over candy2o to prevent dyes from leaching ("bleeding") into top-coated colors and clear.

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Paints.

  • 4040 Bleed Checker is a hybridized, urethane-acrylic clear used as an inter-coat intended for application over candy2o to prevent the candy2o’s dyes from bleeding into top-coated colors.
  • 4040 is recommended for use as an inter-coat clear with all Createx paints. It is durable and highly chemical resistant after curing. Suitable for exterior applications.
  • Apply 4040 Bleed Checker over candy2o as an inter-coat.  After 4040 has thoroughly dried (30 – 60 minutes), other colors including subsequent candy2o colors may be applied direct without scuffing.  4040 will prevent the underlying candy2o’s dye from leaching (“bleeding”) into the top-coated colors.
  • Apply 4040 unreduced, straight from the bottle. Underlying colors do not have to be sanded prior to applying 4040.
  • Apply 2 medium wet coats with a 5 – 10 minute flash time in between coats.
  • Allow 30 – 60 minutes dry time after last coat of 4040 before top-coating with paint or clear

  • 4004 works as a low-build inter-coat, transparent extender for Wicked and Auto Air colors. 4004 appears milky in solution yet dries clear.
  • Works as a light, protective inter-coat perfect for protecting airbrushed artwork before taping. T-shirt painter may also wish to apply a light coat or two of 4004 onto the fabric prior to painting to lock down any fabric nap.

5092 - Flexible Adhesion Promoter

4013 Reducer

5092 Adhesion Promoter is a water-based clear used to make Illustration and Bloodine Colors and other water-based paints stick to latex before applying paint.

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Products

  • An acrylic resin clear intended for use as an adhesive coating direct to latex before applying paint.
  • 5092 is a specialty adhesion promoter intended to match the Hardness / durometer of latex. Helps prevent paint conform to the flexible nature of latex and from flaking or peeling off.

  • Thinning, reducing, 5092 is not required.
  • Apply 1 or 2 light coats direct to the surface, allow each coat to dry 10 – 20 minutes then apply paint.
  • Avoid applying dry or overly wetter, adhesion is best applied as a medium coat.
  • May also be mixed with colors and applied direct to the latex. 5092 is added about 25% per vol. to colors, which are then thinned 5% - 10% with 4011 Reducer.

4050 - UVLS Gloss Clear Coat

4050 UVLS Clear Coat

UVLS clears are water-based, architectural-grade clears made for interior and exterior applications. UVLS Clears are made with an acrylic – aliphatic polyurethane resin which is exceptionally durable with excellent adhesion. Clears are durable and do not yellow over time.

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Products

  • Primer – 4050 Gloss Clear is an excellent adhesive primer for direct application to any substrate other than silicone.
    • Direct-to-Metal primer with excellent adhesion to any metal including brass and steel without risk of corrosion. For best adhesion onto polished, non-sanded metals, allow 48-hours air drying.
    • Direct to most plastics including 3D print composite material, polycarbonate, styrene and more.
    • Excellent wood primer. Protects without raising wood grain. Prevents underlying oil and tannin bleed-through.

Createx Transparent Base

An additive designed to slow the drying time of Createx Colors.

  • Recommended for use with all Createx Products

  • A versatile medium that can be added to any Createx paint.
  • Slows the drying of paint, giving more time for blending or layering highlights.
  • Helps reduce tip-dry compared to diluting with water
  • Generally, this product is not required and not recommended in other than extreme conditions (i.e., extremely hot conditions)
  • When used in very small increments (1 - 2 drops per 4 oz of color) it can also enhance flow and help prevent paint drying in the tip of the airbrush. Mix thoroughly.

4050-4052 UVLS Clears


Createx Transparent Base

UVLS clears are water-based, architectural-grade clears made for interior and exterior applications. UVLS Clears are made with an acrylic – aliphatic polyurethane resin which is exceptionally durable with excellent adhesion. Clears are durable and do not yellow over time.

  • Compatible with all Createx paints.

  • Architectural-grade clear for interior & exterior application
  • UVLS = Ultra-Violet Light Stabilizer. Clears protect underlying pigments and dyes.
  • 4050 Gloss is the highest Gloss-level Createx clear.
  • Use as adhesive primer direct to metal, plastic and other difficult to paint substrates.
  • 4050 Gloss Clear is the recommended medium for mixing with candy2o.
  • Thin 5% - 10% per volume with 4011 Reducer

  • 4050 Gloss Clear is now, the recommended Balanceing Clear medium for mixing with candy2o. Also recommended as a Balanceing Clear for Pearl, Matallic, Pear Flakes and all Createx Procucts for a increased viscosity and is more durable on Hard Surfaces. (See video below)
